A Level Student in the Studio
So over the last couple of weeks I have been getting back into the saddle with no shoulder trouble, which is great. I have had commissions creating business headshots for an executive coach, an accountant and a recruitment agency. The latter involving the executive team and the entire workforce, all 15 people, through the studio. It was fun with a terrific bunch of people and some cheeky banter!
The weekend involves two family shoots, one yesterday and another today, Sunday, but the weekday working week ended with something a little different.
Emily is an A Level studio in her second year at College and needed a studio to work on a project. Her mother had looked around, heading towards one which was known for hire options only to discover they had stopped that service.
I hire my studio occasionally, but previously to other pros for work.
So having Emily, her mum and two friends as models was a nice change. It rather opened my eyes about what is taught at A Level, or rather what isn't and makes me wonder about running some classes. I'll give this some thought but if anyone reading this wants to give me some feedback on whether classes would be of interest, I am all ears.
I don't subscribe to the Nikon v Canon battles but I am a Nikon man (with a little Fuji on the side) and found Emily's little Canon to be a mystery! Gave up on that and let her use a proper camera! Emily did well and was soon shooting away with confidence with a couple of friends, dressed up, made up and smouldering away in front of the lens.
I hope she gets a good grade for her project!
