Farnham Facial Hair Project Bristles Along
So a lot has happened since my last post which announced the Farnham Facial Hair project. The project has leapt forward, being so well received locally that I have been taken a little by surprise. It has caused a dilemma with regard the timing of everything and I’m still not quite sure how it will all fit together. The main thing is we now have the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice on board as the recipient charity. We also know how we can monetise the project to make it worthwhile for the Hospice.
The course of events are that I will continue to photograph men around Farnham with beards and moustaches, from the shaggy to the hirsutedly manicured. The plan is to produce a high quality book, posters and prints which we will sell and give the profits to the Hospice.
To raise the working funds needed to produce the sale items, we are looking for sponsorship from local firms. This will take the form of a firm sponsoring a page in the book, thereby becoming a permanent partner to the project. The climax will be an exhibition, hopefully at a high profile venue.
The next promotional plan is to lift the awareness of the project from online media and push it out using traditional methods. A such, Riverprint have very kindly stepped forward and will be printing posters and hand out cards which will appear around town.
So if you want to take part as a sitter, a sponsor or a recruiter for both/either please let us know.So far the updates have been fed into my Facebook page but below is a preview of the men photographed so far.
