Business Headshot Open Days on 23rd and 24th July 2014

I am holding two Open Days at the studio, (23/07/14 & 24/07/14) starting at 9am and running through to 9pm on both days, specifically for Business Headshots. The idea is to run it like a drop in session, anyone can simply turn up, pay £50 and have a short session so as to create a great portrait which can be used across social media platforms, websites, blogs and print media.  This is all part of my push to encourage people to start seeing business photography as an ongoing narrative for their business.  A visual language which engages existing clients and customers and attracts new business.I have a lot more to come on the subject but an easy step is to address the 'profile photo'. I totally understand that people generally don't like being photographed. However, online social media has dramatically evolved the need to address your promoted image. I read the other day that your profile photo is now your first hand shake. If people know you are going to meet they will often look you up. Without doubt they will seek you online after you have met.Have a look at your profile photo and look at it as someone who has never met you.  What does the photo convey? There are all sorts of facts and statistics centred around profile photos. Reading a blog recently I understand that theladders.com, a leading recruitment company, used eye monitoring software to see how recruiters read CVs.  For me the interesting result was that 19% of the recruiters time was spent looking at the applicants photo.  Presumably as they read through the text, their eyes would flick back and forth to the image.I think this makes sense.  It suggests that subliminally the recruiter was engaging with the applicant through their photo. Marrying what they read with the face. Cementing an opinion. If you have a LinkedIn profile, a twitter account, a business facebook page, Google+, a blog, website, pinterest your photo is being seen by people, right now. There is a lot you can do but if you come along on the 23rd or the 24th of July we can start the ball rolling.Feel free to contact me if you have an questions.Incidentally, the studio is opposite the Holly Bush pub, which is open all day! This is Jamie Barlow of Stop & Stare Marketing in Farnham.www.stopandstaremarketing.co.uk
