Last Family Shoot in 2014 and First Product Shoot in 2015

To start my blog off for 2015 I though I'd touch on two very different aspects of my work.  I centre what I do around Business Photography, which covers a lot of areas but I still accept commissions for family photos.  Late last year Penny and Thomas Power booked up for a family photoshoot to act as a memory capstone to a very eventful year.  It turned out to be my last shoot for 2014, the day before Christmas Eve and a lot of fun. We created loads of photos, laughed a lot and ended up with the 'boys' topless, seeking the light for moody muscle photos. I am not posting them here for fear it will create a deluge of fans seeking prints! Well, we shall see, if the boys fancy some adulation, maybe! Here though are a few from the day. Then, scroll down and I'll introduce the work of artist Sigi Hill.

So that finished 2014. Strictly speaking the first proper shoot for 2015 was another family photoshoot, but due to scheduling, they haven't yet been in to review their photos; seems a bit unfair to post here before they've had the big unveiling!

Not long after the New Year though I did a test product shoot for a new client, more on that later in another post and a set of photos for Sigi Hill.

Sigi Hill recently graduated with an Art Degree and now works in creating fabulous works in glass. Except with a twist.  Her latest creations, about to be entered into a prestigious national competition and exhibition, needed photographing. I photographed each piece as a whole and then followed with a series of close ups, setting the art on a white background but maintaining some shadow. The glass sparkles and Sigi uses, I think, essentially broken up glass which takes on a smooth, very tactile finish in the firing process.
